As the weather starts to cool off, what better way to spend your time than by enjoying the beautiful waterfront views our area has to offer? With 12 primary watersheds and hundreds of sub-watersheds, there are tons of places with gorgeous waterfront views to visit throughout Anne Arundel County.

Whether you’re wanting to take in the scenery, eat a meal waterfront, or learn some history, Anne Arundel County has it all! So, here’s a list of our favorite spots to spend some time on, next to, or in the water.

Downs Park – Pasadena
Right on the Chesapeake Bay, Downs Park offers amazing waterfront views! As a bonus, not only will you get to sit out and enjoy the water, but this park has a ton of other amenities available to enjoy during your time spent here. With a fishing pier, playground, two basketball courts, kayak launches, public beaches, and over five miles of paved trails, Downs Park is sure to make for a fun day!

The Point Crab House & Grill – Arnold
With live music, a fantastic happy hour, and plenty of slips to dock your boat, The Point is the perfect restaurant to dine at if you’re wanting to enjoy a meal by the Magothy. The Point has live music every Wednesday and Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m., half-price bottles of House Wine every Wednesday, and happy hour every Monday – Friday from 3 – 6 p.m. This is a great spot to hang out, enjoy some music, and spend time with friends and family.

Spriggs Farm Park on the Magothy – Arnold
Spriggs Farm Park is a great park located on the Magothy River in Arnold, MD. With 54 acres of land and 650 feet of waterfront access, there are plenty of activities to do, whether you are wanting to get in the water or stay dry! This park offers a boat launch, picnic area, and walking trails along the Magothy River. With the gorgeous views and outdoor activities, you can’t go wrong paying a visit to Spriggs Farm Park.

Cantler’s Riverside Inn – Annapolis
A hidden Annapolis gem, Cantler’s is a locally owned restaurant that proudly serves a wide variety of fresh seafood. Located right on the Mill Creek inlet, you’ll enjoy beautiful water views, home-style cooking, and free docking if arriving by boat.

Historic London Town & Gardens – Edgewater
Open Wednesday – Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Historic London Town & Gardens is named the “‘lost colonial town and garden on the South River.” Located in Edgewater, MD, Historic London Town & Gardens is a 23-acre park filled with history, archaeology, and horticulture. This is a great location to visit if you’re looking for more than just a trip to the beach. This spot is the perfect place to learn some of Anne Arundel County’s rich history.

Broken Oar & Grill – Glen Burnie
Offering panoramic views of Nabbs Creek, Broken Oar is a locally-owned restaurant in Glen Burnie, MD. Serving dishes including homemade soups, salads, seafood entrees, pizza, and even sushi, Broken Oar is sure to please everyone at the table. Broken Oar also hosts exciting events such as bingo, trivia, and live music!

Davidsonville Park – Davidsonville
Filled with baseball fields, playgrounds, and pavilions, Davidsonville Park is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a day by the water. This park is located on the Patuxent River with a boat launch and fishing pier – a perfect combination! Whether you’re wanting to spend time doing water activities or stay dry on land, this park offers plenty of options for both.

Stoney Creek Inn – Curtis Bay
This quaint riverside restaurant is sure to please! Stoney Creek Inn has a kitchen that prepares all dishes from scratch and special entrees that are new every day. With patio seating that offers amazing views of Stoney Creek paired with delicious food, this is a restaurant you’ll want to visit. And to top it off, Guy Fierarri visited Stoney Creek Inn in 2008 on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so this is a must-visit!

Mayo Beach Park – Mayo
If you’re an avid windsurfer, Mayo Beach Park is the place for you! Daphne Lathouras, a member of the Baltimore Area Boardsailing Association, said Mayo Beach Park is a great spot for windsurfers in Anne Arundel County. Even if you’re not a windsurfer, this park also offers its visitors other activities including swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, and spots to picnic. So, if you’re a fan of water sports, pay a visit to Mayo Beach Park.

Pirates Cove Restaurant and Dock Bar – Galesville
Galesville, MD is the home of Pirates Cove, a local favorite and a great spot for amazing water views. Outdoor seating allows diners to take in views of the West River, while the lounge offers an indoor option for those who are still wanting to take advantage of the waterfront views. Pirates Cove also has an outdoor Dock Bar, open from late May through October, and live entertainment in the lounge.

Solley Cove Park –Curtis Bay
If you have a kayak, make sure to bring it with you because this is a paddle you won’t want to miss. Launching from Solley Cove Park and paddling up Marley Creek, your views will quickly change from houses to beautiful greenery. While on your ride, you’ll also pass by old railroad bridges, Brewers Island, the American Legion, and Coast Guard Yard.

Fort Smallwood Park – Glen Burnie
Located on a peninsula where the Patapsco River and Rock Creek meet, you are sure to have beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay at Fort Smallwood Park. At Fort Smallwood Park, there are over 90 acres of recreational amenities including a 380-foot fishing pier, a playground, a pond, public beaches, and walking trails. And, if you’re looking for more than just scenic views, Fort Smallwood Park is a great place to go to learn about the history of the park itself. This park was a sea coast defense built in the late 1880’s that still has a historical gun battery and barracks.

Watermark Tours, Charters, Cruises – Annapolis
What better way to view the water than by being on it? Watermark offers tours of Annapolis by boat for a fun day of sightseeing, history and drinks! Launching out of Annapolis City Dock, Watermark offers cruises of: Annapolis Harbor & USNA, Spa Creek, St. Michaels, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and Thomas Point Lighthouse.

The Boathouse – Deale
The Boathouse, on Rockhold Creek, is a must-visit in Deale, MD. Locals love to come here to enjoy live music, drinks, and amazing water views. Not to mention, there is an entire menu just for crushes, so if you’re in the mood for a cocktail, this is the place to go. Plus, there’s a new addition to the restaurant – a food truck!

Stan and Joe’s Saloon – Galesville
“Lively, local, casual, delicious,” is the motto Stan and Joe’s lives by when it comes to creating a fun and welcoming environment for their customers. Located on the Chesapeake Bay, the outdoor dock bar serves up beautiful water views and fun evenings filled with live music. Along with the amazing location, their rotating menu (local oysters in the winter and crabs in the spring) makes this a great spot for fresh seafood and great views.
