With the season’s first snowfall on the horizon and Christmas right around the corner, there has never been a more perfect time to enjoy some holiday festivities. From indoor activities like shopping at Green Street Gardens to bundling up and heading out to catch the Jolly Express Cruise, there is so much to take part in this holiday season. 

Winter in Anne Arundel County is truly a magical time, which is why we’ve rounded up the 15 best winter activities throughout the county.

Miracle Bar, Hanover 

Only here for a limited time, the Miracle Bar at Maryland Live! is the ultimate Christmas-themed pop-up. It doesn’t get more festive than this! This fully immersive holiday experience features themed cocktails nestled within over-the-top decorations, including an upside-down Christmas tree and ornaments hanging from the ceiling. So, head over to the Miracle bar before it is gone on January 1st. 

Red Red Jingle Bell Bar, Annapolis 

Situated on Main Street, Red Red Wine Bar transforms into the festive and fun Red Red Jingle Bell Bar. With events almost every day, there is always something going on. Looking to stop by sometime soon? Check out their calendar of events here

North Pole Lights Walk, Severn 

The North Pole Lights Walk takes you all the way to the North Pole to visit Santa in his cabin. As you walk through the winter woods, you’ll see many lighted scenes. In addition, hot chocolate is available to warm up those hands as you make your way through the trail. Tickets are only $5! The last day of this holiday activity is December 30th. 

Holiday Wishes from The Talent Machine Company- Crownsville

Looking to see a show this holiday season? The Talent Machine Company is presenting its high-energy musical, Holiday Wishes. The show will feature notable holiday characters such as Rudolph and Frosty The Snowman. With only a few days left, this special holiday show is a must-see! 

Lights On The Bay, Annapolis 

Lights On The Bay is a scenic and festive drive through Sandy Point State Park. The 26th annual drive-through show has 65+ displays situated throughout a two-mile scenic drive. This year they even have a brand new Blue Angels animated display. We proudly serve as a sponsor for Lights On The Bay and as an added bonus, it benefits one of Liquified Creative’s favorite causes, the Anne Arundel County SPCA.

Holiday Pop Shop, Gambrills 

Located in The Village at Waugh Chapel, The Holiday Pop Shop is the go-to this holiday season for everything from ornaments to wreaths. Hate wrapping gifts? They offer professional gift wrapping! Lacking inspiration for your home? They have trees set up to inspire shoppers! The Holiday Pop Shop makes holiday shopping both enjoyable and fun for all.

A Budweiser Clydesdale Miracle on West Street, Annapolis

Beers, bands + Budweiser Clydesdales! This trifecta is perfect for a pre-Military Bowl celebration. Head over to A Budweiser Clydesdale Miracle on West Street for food trucks, games, activities, and more. The festivities will be taking place on December 27th from 1:00-4:00. 

Snowflake Alley, Annapolis

Known as Cabbage Alley during the off-season, Snowflake Alley is a one-of-a-kind alleyway located on Main Street. The narrow space is full of snowflakes of varying sizes and colors and serves as the perfect photo opportunity. So, grab your Santa hat and head on over to this simply beautiful light display. 

Grinch Glass: Glen Burnie, Sidelines with Artist Katie Detrich, Glen Burnie

This event is perfect for those looking to make a DIY gift for a loved one. Led by artist Katie Detrich, you will be taught how to paint the Grinch on a wine glass, beer mug, mason jar, or pilsner. Paint instructions will begin promptly at 6:30 on December 21st.

Holiday Spirit Tour: Yuletide Traditions At The William Paca House, Annapolis 

Celebrate the holiday season with the Holiday Spirit Tour: Yuletide Traditions At The William Paca House on December 26th. The William Paca house is full of elegant decorations and festive music. Throughout this tour, you will get the opportunity to learn about 18th-century Maryland holiday traditions and stories. 

Candlelight Shopping at Green Street Gardens, Lothian

Greenstreet Gardens is an entirely different experience at night! For one last time this year, on December 22, shop by candlelight for all kinds of gifts and Christmas decor! Plus all gift shop items and poinsettias are 15% off! 

Quiet Waters Park Ice Rink, Annapolis

Break out the skates because it’s time to head to the outdoor rink! Quiet Waters is once again home to a fantastic outdoor ice skating rink. Tickets are inexpensive ($6-$7 for admission and only $3 to rent skates) so bring the entire family out! The best place to see daily hours is their Facebook page, so be sure to give them a like! 

Santa’s Cottage, Annapolis

Calling all of those who are on the Nice List! Santa wants to meet you at his Cottage. The friendly folks at Annapolis Town Center have an entire area set up for you and the kids to meet Santa himself, and take home a photo to treasure forever. Hurry though! Santa will only be there through December 23 before he heads back to the North Pole to prepare for Christmas. (Located next to Muse Paintbar)

Christmas Pajama Party, Deale

Head on down to southern Anne Arundel County in your favorite holiday pajamas! Happy Harbor is hosting this festive party on Christmas Eve from 7 PM – 12 AM. Plus they’re offering happy hour all night long if you wear your PJs. See you there?

Jolly Express Cruise, Annapolis

You’ll want to book this experience quickly because there’s only one night left for it, December 30. The Annapolis staple, Miss Anne, will be decked out in reindeer spirit for an intimate 45-minute “sleigh ride” around Annapolis. Grab your favorite blanket and head out for holiday music, hot cocoa, and holiday cheer!
