Making a Splash in Fundraising for Cancer Survivorship

Fish For A Cure is a yearly fishing tournament and shore party hosted by the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation. F4AC raises money for the Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute’s Cancer Survivorship Program. The program offers support for patients and their families, nurse navigation, education, genetics counseling, support groups, social work, and psychology services.

BRIEF

As a close partner with the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, we work hand in hand in designing, developing, and delivering a wide array of marketing and creative services. From design to hands-on project management, we strive to make Fish For A Cure a year-long fundraising vehicle for cancer patients.

APPROACH

Armed with an understanding of past tournament performance and key insights on the Foundation and Board of Director’s goals, we were able to develop an extensive content strategy to boost registrations + donations, educate and engage their audience. Our experience marketing plan included the deployment of both traditional and digital marketing coupled by creative campaigns geared towards registrars, sponsors, partners, and those learning about the tournament for the first time. Additional supporting services included social media management + engagement, web development, video production for an exclusive patient story, and creative work.

RESULT

The 2022 Fish For A Cure is the highest-earning F4AC to date. New elements for promoting the tournament were brought in, including a month-long banner campaign that could be seen on Downtown Annapolis’ Main Street through the entire month of July.
